Up The Café de Paris

Written by Lewis Barfoot and Hannah Kimpton

The play is set in the Spring of 1941, high on the roof tops over looking the Café de Paris, London. It follows the remarkable journey of two women, thrown together on fire watch, and how their lives are empowered and transformed by their experience of the war. Facing fear, betrayal and desire head on, Margaret and Violet delve into the roots of true friendship and embark on a journey of great self discovery- a journey that reaches it’s climactic conclusion on 8th March 1941, International Women’s Day, the day the Café de Paris is bombed.
